terpening earns 5-30 MORE years in prison

April 26, 2016

Today, Michael Aaron Terpening was sentenced to serve an additional 5-30 years as a prisoner in at the Michigan Department of Corrections. This sentence does not begin until until Terpening has completed serving the current 10-15 year sentence.

Michael Terpening sentencedOn hand for sentencing today was one of the victims as well as Joseph Terpening, the felon's father. who's spent much of his time in the Oakland Country Court glaring at Jen. Jen is a former Terpening Follower who testified for the prosecution in the first sex crimes case and is one of the people Terpening tried to swindle in the present case.

I don't usually editorialize but I will as one suspects this is the last we hear from Michael Terpening for more than a decade

The monster who hurt so many young people has been brought to justice for this, the third time. For this writer, I never expected to find myself a, "victim" of Michael Terpening. I am, gratified he did choose me, though.

Unlike Michael Terpening's other victims I knew immediately what to do and with the help of great friends we set about exposing Terpening. Happily, in order to have pulled off the stunt Terpening and his co-defendant used the courts.

Every piece of paper needed to expose these criminals was available online from the Oakland County Clerk's office in an unrelated case they thought they could use to get away with the stunt. Make no mistake, their plan actually resulted in another victim's credit union account being frozen by legal process. That victim was left with a giant mess to untangle. Thankfully he had a union benefit that gave him a lawyer, Judge Nanci Grant is amazing when that victim just showed up the first time in court, and a detective at the Michigan State Police Post in Lakeview stepped up for that victim.

For me I am pleased Michael Terpening's earned himself more time behind bars. The one reality we cannot escape with Terpening is he will not accept he must stop being a criminal. He just stop trying to hurt people. Even after being sentenced 10-15 years Terpening refused to get the message.

The work of the prosecutor in Oakland County, the detective sergeant from the Michigan State Police and Judge Grant who handled the civil case ensures more young people will be protected when this predator leaves prison. If there is anything he demonstrates, for all to see, it is he will not stop.

This comes after the long hard work, starting in 2003 in the case Terpening bribes the witness into recanting, by the Michigan State Police, the Barry County Prosecutor's Office, the Michigan Attorney General's office and of course the many victims from the case ending in 2012. I was glad to remind one of those great young people when he called today that Michael Terpening was back standing before the bar of justice as we spoke.

Michael Terpening and the Terpening machine refuse to stop by choice; leaving society no choice and by God, society has stepped up now for the third time this decade to protect our young people.

WHAT THIS MEANS IS FOR 5-30 ADDITIONAL YEARS THERE WILL BE YOUNG PEOPLE THIS PREDATOR SIMPLY CANNOT REACH. IT MATTERS MICHAEL AARON TERPENING HAS NO ACCESS TO ANY YOUNG PERSON.

IT ALSO MATTERS HIS KIDS WILL BE OLD ENOUGH TO PROTECT THEMESLVES FROM THEIR FATHER.

Things to think about...As he comes up for parole in 2022, these crimes will weigh on the parole decision. Committing crimes from behind bars doesn't make parole come faster. Add in the reality sex offenders don't usually get out when first eligible for parole and there is a serious possibility Terpening may serve the entire 15 year term from the 2012 cases. If this ends up being the case, Michael Aaron Terpening may very well not get a serious shot at parole until 2032, 20 years  into his sentence.

I honestly want to thank Michael Terpening for coming after me. What a guy! So when he first gets arrested in the sex cases he refuses deals that very well could have seen Terpening get his first shot at freedom after a year in prison.

Terpening  fought, he attacked the victims online, he attacked the character of the police and the prosecutors. He did a great job taking that year to maybe getting no shot at leaving prison until 2032.

I don't celebrate prison sentences. I celebrate the young people in our society who will never be abused by this predator.
